CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA–The Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team remain still ranked #1 nationally in the most recent (Feb. 28, 2026) National Wheelchair Basketball Association poll for Division 3.
The team will be in action on March 15th in Richmond at a four-team round-robin tournament in preparation for the NWBA national championship tournament at the end of March in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Division 3 competition is slated to begin on Friday, March 28th and conclude on Sunday, March 30th. The tournament features the “Sweet Sixteen”, “Elite Eight”, and “Final Four” match-ups in a compressed three-day tournament that culminates with the championship game on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The team is currently working hard to raise the roughly $20,000+ for the trip.
