COLORADO SPRINGS, CO–The Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team slipped one spot in the latest National Wheelchair Basketball Association Division II’s national rankings, from #8 to #9.
The Cardinals have not competed since the holidays and the lack of recent activity appears to have slightly affected their NWBA national ranking. The team is scheduled to compete at a major tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana this weekend (February 3-4).
“We’ll need to knock off any rust pretty quickly this weekend,” said player-coach Tom Vandever. “We’ll be facing some very aggressive and hungry Division I and Division II squads.”
The Cardinals will be play five games over the two days of the tournament.
In other NWBA rankings, the Harrisonburg, VA Cardinals were ranked #6 in Division III.
