CHARLOTTESVILLE–The Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team will provide a demonstration of wheelchair basketball and invite members of the public to participate at the Grand Opening of the Carver Recreation Center (at the Jefferson School) this Saturday, January 19th, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The Cardinals will demonstrate practice drills and perform some brief game activities to illustrate the sport. The team will also have sports wheelchairs available for members of the public to give the sport a try.
The Grand Opening activities will also feature tours of the new facility, refreshments, face painting, a balloon artist, a caricaturist, juggling, and demonstrations in cooking, dancing, gymnastics, fitness, and arts and crafts, in addition to wheelchair basketball.
Carver Recreation Center is located at 233 4th Street NW in Charlottesville.
