CHARLOTTESVILLE–The Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team is heading for Louisville, Kentucky to battle for the national championship of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.
The 12th-ranked Cardinals will face a tough opponent in their first game–a match against the 5th-ranked Arizona Wildcats at 9:45 a.m. (Central Time) on Thursday, April 18th.
“The Arizona squad made it to the Final Four last year,” said Charlottesville coach Tom Vandever. “Our guys will have to be ready.”
The Cardinals will play four games at the tournament. A loss at any point will knock them out of contention for the championship and force them to play for a lower final ranking.
All of the Championship Division games will be live streamed on the NWBA website at www.nwba.org.
